A strong narrative can hold a whole scheme together. It can provide a metaphysical structure to hang identities, provide direction and orientation.
Design should tell a story, hold a conversation, challenge presumptions, promote reflection.
A ‘nice’ scheme is the antithesis of design excellence.
The above ‘cartoon’ was the basis of a pitch for Just Eat’s offices, scribbled with a biro on a spare sheet of paper whilst on a long weekend at Granma’s. (Some of the best ideas come whilst out of the office).
